Jaime Reyes is the central figure in the DC Extended Universe's iteration of Blue Beetle. A recent college graduate, Jaime returns home to Palmera City, eager to start a new chapter in his life.

His plans are quickly derailed when he unwittingly comes into possession of the Scarab, an ancient piece of alien biotechnology. The Scarab chooses Jaime as its symbiotic host, bonding with him and granting him a powerful exosuit.

This suit transforms Jaime into the Blue Beetle, a superhero capable of flight, energy projection, and wielding various weaponized constructs. He is thrust into a conflict against Victoria Kord, the CEO of Kord Industries, who seeks to reclaim the Scarab for her own nefarious purposes.

Balancing his newfound powers with his family obligations and grappling with the overwhelming responsibility, Jaime must learn to control the Scarab and embrace his destiny as Blue Beetle to protect his loved ones and Palmera City.
